Photographing the business owners and shopkeepers of Rochdale.

A Portrait of Milkstone Road is a series of photographs of business owners and employees working in and around the Milkstone Road area.

We commissioned photographer Richard Tymon and placemaking consultant Esther Morrison to take these photos while interviewing local business owners about their ideas and aspirations for the area. As well as any issues and challenges they face.

All the feedback was recorded and will help to shape and support future local development.

About the artist

Richard Tymon is a freelance photographer based in Glossop. Often working with arts organisations and their communities, his practice embraces a creative and collaborative approach.
